Two-Minute Team Effectiveness Test Client Evaluations Contact us Testimonials: "The most amazing result of the workshop is that it has actually shifted my way of seeing and evaluating myself and other. I am something of a skeptic when it comes to the claims made by facilitators about the transformational nature of what they had to offer. In the case of your workshop, the raves I heard were from those who had participated and found it beneficial, and it's an understatement to say that I was not disappointed. I will be returning to it, and to your workshops, again and again." Educational and Editorial Consultant "Your teambuilding workshop and follow up session helped us appreciate our differences and recognize their impact on how we work together. Style talk is now part of the vernacular of the agency. We have benefited in a real and lasting way. " Director, Jean Tweed Centre "There is great potential for your work within The Executive Committee organization (TEC). Your application of the Enneagram is unique and you obviously have the skills to deal with TEC Presidents and CEOs." Chairman, TEC |
Enneagram in Business What is the Enneagram? The Enneagram is arguably the oldest human development system on the planet. No one knows its precise origins, though its roots appear to lie in Asia and the Middle East and date from several thousand years ago. The word enneagram drives from the Greek words ennea, meaning nine, and gram, meaning something written or drawn. The Enneagram system is a motivational model, and offers profound insights into the nine very different ways in which people feel, think, and behave. We find our place on the Enneagram, not by our outer behaviour, but rather by our inner experience - our fundamental beliefs about the world (which may or may not be conscious), our patterns of thinking and feeling, the way we pay attention, and the underlying motivation behind why we do the things we do. Far more than just a psychological framework, the Enneagram is a key that can open the door to a deep understanding of the self and the way we create our experience. Where is it used? The Enneagram is currently being used in many fields and disciplines including business, education, executive coaching, sales, law, entertainment, medicine, psychotherapy and spiritual direction. In the legal field, for example, the Enneagram is used in situations that include jury selection, case presentation, and mediation. Health -care professionals use the Enneagram to improve both interactions with patients and working relationships with other health professionals. What are the business applications? Business applications include communication, feedback, conflict resolution, team development, leadership development, coaching, decision-making, motivation, diversity, strategic planning, culture change, and many others. An increasing number of organizations are using the Enneagram in both training programs and organizational change initiatives because the system provides such a thorough foundation for understanding why people behave in the ways that they do. These organizations include the Walt Disney Company, Silicon Graphics, the Federal Reserve Bank, the CIA, Sun Microsystems, and Motorola. Many universities are incorporating the Enneagram in their business curriculum - for example, Stanford University, UCLA, and Antioch University. How do I find my Enneagram style? An individual's Enneagram type can only be discovered through self-examination. Friends and co-workers may offer useful feedback, typing instruments may provide helpful clues, but only you can make the final judgment.
